Highly intelligent, easy to train and great with children. They are friendly, loving, affectionate dogs that do best when they are with their family. With an eagerness to please as well as a very playful nature, they are loyal companions with easy dispositions. They're versatile working dogs. Goldendoodles have achieved success as guide dogs, service dogs, and therapy dogs. They do well with agility and obedience training. Goldendoodles are typically not good “watch dogs.” In fact, we train our dogs NOT to bark and to be quiet, well-behaved family members. This is helpful as most people live in highly populated cities and suburbs.
F1- First Generation= Poodle X Golden Retriever = 50% Poodle 50% Golden Retriever. Coat is typically wavy. This generation is the most apt to lightly shed. They also typically have the nice wide retriever heads.
F1B- Poodle X F1 Goldendoodle = 75% Poodle and 25% Golden Retriever. Coats are usually split down the litter. Half are wavy and half are curly. Minimal shedding.
F1BB- Poodle X F1B Goldendoodle = 88% Poodle and 12% Golden Retriever. This is the MOST hypoallergenic combination. Usually all the coats are curly and the puppy should NOT shed.
F2B- F1 X F1B = approx 67% Poodle and 33% Golden Retriever. Coats can be wavy, straight or curly depending on puppy.
Multigen- There are many combinations used to produce a multi-generational doodle. Most commonly used is F1B X F1B, F2B X F1B = F3 and higher. These combinations are more commonly called Multigen Goldendoodles. Coats can vary from a fluffy straight coat to wavy and also curly. Multigen goldendoodles are the most highly sought and less popular as it takes years and years of breeding to produce a multigenerational litter.
